Now that we are penned in like bulls waiting for the corrida there are always those last minute details to be reckoned with. The temperature here in Dubai is swarmy at best and some of us are exhibiting the effects of having gotten too much sun and all the energy has been drained. Nevertheless as we reside in the cool environs of the office we can relax and take care of these details even if it takes longer to get things done. Found a great shisha bar to go to when not frequenting the rooftop lounge at one of my favorite Dubai hotels. The current buzz around town is in regards to the moving building” that has just been announced. It sounds really cool on the surface but I can see that a moving building can create some ugly configurations that many may not even conceive as being problems. It would be great if everyone was on the same page so to speak but with everyone having different agendas this means that the look of the building could turn out to be haphazard and lets face it just plain ugly.

The architect is a curiousity as he hasn´t necessarily done this before and much more needs to happen before this project can evn go forward. Well it makes for interesting reading anyway.

The Metamorphosis is complete and now we go into the final phase of introducing the new site.

The elements that we will be bringing to our readers are quite dynamic and the testing we´ve done so far of what is to be on offer from FXSouk has been nothing short of remarkable. The journey has been hard at times based on the niche market that we are filling, but as we begin our overall push to the world markets, we are going to introduce innovative elements to our readers which will allow them various ways to not only know about market events but their participation in the market will also involve them with the community of traders, institutions, and investors. After the formalities of doing the necessary we can begin sharing the interesting anecdotes that happened along the way….

The keyword here is “SOUK” which unless you´re already familiar with the word means “market” in Arabic.Traditionally the Souk is where people would go do do all types of trading in common everyday commodities. The most famous Souk´s prior to us are the Gold Souks that can be found throughout the regions. FXSouk began with the purpose of providing to the Middle Eastern Financial Community a web presence which relates to our world. Initially we began FXSouk as an incubator site as we looked to develop and publish original content from local banks and institutions as their influence grows and changes the landscape of our local markets. SO simply the “SOUK” is where the deals  occur and the first place to go for what´s really happening on the streets.
